Roles
Josh Watts is the current Director of Reliability Services for American MTS. In this role he assists customers to find the best overall solution for improving equipment reliability and eliminating unplanned downtime. He does this through a close study of “bad actors” and asset criticality. Josh also manages the field service and RAMS® teams. He also is played a key role in setting up American MTS’ functional electronics and servo repair center.
Previous Expertise
Josh has been with American MTS since 2013. Prior to his current role, He was has worked as a transformer, AC and DC motor technician. He also helped develop the current onsite service and equipment strategy. He has done several detailed bearing analysis working closely with the manufacturers to understand failure cause.
Education & Industry Involvement
Josh has a strong background in vibration as a certified analyst. He has completed EASA’s root cause failure analysis webinar and attended many training seminars and webinars. He is also a certified Infrared Technician and Motion Amplification analyst. He has a passion for learning and self educates on new topics and challenges he takes on.
What Sets Him Apart
Josh has a love for music which has helped him pick up vibration and ultrasonic wave patterns quickly. He is very high energy and driven to understand any topic he finds interesting as thoroughly as he can. He also has a passion for customer service and providing value in all transactions.
